'St Julien A' Plum Tree Rootstocks
St Julien A is a semi-vigorous rootstock for plum trees and closely related trees like damsons, bullaces, gages and mirabelles. You need to graft your own plum tree scion wood onto the rootstock.
St Julien A rootstocks will produce a mature tree up to about 4 metres tall, and they're suitable for growing half-standard, bush and fan trained trees.
Grafting is pretty straightforward and has a high success rate (all our varieties are grafted). While it's fun to make your own tree, for the amateur grower, grafting is generally most appropriate when you need to replicate an unknown variety or one which is no longer available commercially.
Rootstocks will be despatched in February and March.
