Ashton Brown Jersey Apple Trees (Cider)

Ashton Brown Jersey Apple Trees (Cider)

Ashton Brown Jersey Cider Apple Trees

The Ashton Brown Jersey apple tree produces a late season, bittersweet, vintage cider apple. The ripe fruit have a deep red-purple flush, and the flowers a fairly late, which makes them less susceptible to late frost.

Please note that this tree, although it makes outstanding cider all by itself, is not ideal if you only have room for one cider apple tree. It is slower than average to begin cropping (it is worth the wait) and it has a natural biennial habit. If you already have another, more consistent cider apple tree, then we recommend adding Ashton Brown Jersey to your collection.

Browse our range of apple trees or the full variety of fruit trees.

  • Spur Bearer: suitable for cordons & espaliers, trained on wires.
  • Tree's growth habit: Average vigour, a bit slow to establish. Biennial tendency.
  • Harvest: Early November
  • Cider apples should be pressed for their juice as quickly as possible.

All of our Ashton Brown Jersey trees are grown on MM106 rootstocks.
